Vacation- Coco Cay, Bahamas

We're home and glad to be. We did have an amazing vacation in the Bahamas and wish to return one day. This was our 2nd cruise and very different from the first, 3 years ago. It was much better! The first cruise was 7 days, too long for us, because you spend half the time just traveling. This cruise was just 3 days and we spent 2 whole days in the Bahamas. I could have done a few more days if there would have been stops. Getting on and off the ship was so much nicer and more organized this time. There were the needed security checks that are annoying, but I don't mind, because I knew that we would be safe for the most part. There was even a drug sniffing dog going around everyone on the way off the ship. I thought that was really cool! I wonder if he smelled my Reese's Cups I snuck on the ship and off! Saturday, we stopped at Coco Cay, an island owned by Royal Caribbean and we went on an amazing wave runner guide. It was an adventurous hour ride, full throttle, that made it very fast! The water was breathtaking and went from dark blue, to turquoise, and to clear. I got to kiss a starfish taken right from the ocean floor for good luck. I actually jumped off to swim in this area, but we were told to quickly get back on because sharks were near! Yikes! I didn't bring my camera out and wish I had. We were somewhere out in the Bermuda Triangle and I am happy to say we survived! I snorkeled off the island after we got back and took many pictures under water that I need to get developed so I can show. Here are a few pictures of Coco Cay! I'll blog about Nassau and the ship in the next few post.

Not so bummed

The people that want our house (not the new one we are in now, btw) are signing a contract with our realtor today and should be making an offer this evening. Praise the Lord!

I'm bummed!

We found out today that the contract on our house was terminated. Here we are going on an expensive vacation Thursday and we are because our house had "sold." We were supposed to close tomorrow, and it got bumped, thinking probably next week sometime we would close. It has been shown to a couple 2 times in the last week, even while under contract, that really want it. I'm praying we get an offer, like really soon! I'm bummed, BUT I'm still going to the Bahamas! Okay, I'm all better!

Is it you, Lord?

Well, today I decided to blog about what most people that check out my blog want to know. Are we still adopting or pursuing adopting? Yes, we are. We ended the journey to Russia at the end of February and we attended our first adoption related seminar in May. I had to take a few months off just to clear the air and live normally again. Anyone who is the paper worker of the adoption process for their family knows that your life becomes consumed with mail and documents. I lived this way for 2 years. Shortly after, we moved, and now I'm selling Avon. I'm starting to think I'm hyper and I just can't sit still very long. Life never slowed down and you know that there is no such thing as normal. A few weeks ago I applied with a local agency to do a domestic (U.S.) adoption, just to see. Today I got the rejection letter saying they couldn't work with us because of Robert's age. Yes, it hurts. I'm very pro agency and even though it is expensive I was ready to tackle it again. On the flip side, because I always try to dig and see the best in everything, I may have gotten a sign. I've been praying for one, because I've been going through a lot of confusion lately. At the end of this letter it told us to investigate adopting through the state, CPS and how there are so many children out there that need a home that the state has taken them away from their biological parents. Well, the seminar we attended in May was for Foster to Adopt, with the state (CPS). We don't want to be foster parents, we want to be parents. The state has a program that has those children "labeled" that they will most likely be adoptable. We still have to go through the foster program and get certified as foster parents. The next PRIDE classes start in Oct. so we've done everything until then. Is this a sign...is it you, Lord?
